A sunny day made for a great Endurance competition. |
| Friday, June 24, 2005 - Qualifying ends, Sprints begin | ||
All boats qualified in both sprint and endurance in the morning. The first sprints heats show that this year's field is a very fast one.

| Thursday, June 23, 2005 - On-the-water events begin | ||
« Each morning begins with a skippers meeting led by Jeff Morehouse. The day's schedule is discussed. The bright sunny day brings out the solar panels for charging batteries. From here on, the sun is the only source of power for these teams. »
« The local team from Buffalo State shows off their muscles as they launch their entry. On-the-water testing is the final inspection before a boat can compete on the water. » |
| Wednesday, June 22, 2005 - The teams arrived! | ||
« Teams arrived and unpacked. Let the fun begin! Each skipper has to be weighed and ballasted to 154 lb. Skippers must also pass the afternoon swim test (without the life jacket). » Congratulations to Nathan Porbeck of the University of Arkansas for swimming the fastest in the swim test. |
« Teams begin planning for the day's work. After the teams arrive they begin reassembling their boats for afternoon inspections and tomorrow's on-the-water events. » |
| Tuesday, June 21, 2005 - A sunny day in Buffalo | ||
If the rest of the week's weather is like today, there will be abundant sunshine and wonderful weather for the event. « The paddock area is ready for the teams to arrive, and the welcome banners are hung. The scoring tents and high line are in place and ready to go. Many thanks to the sponsors that have made the event possible. » |

| Monday, June 20, 2005 - Getting set up (without George) | ||
| This is the first year that SOLAR SPLASH has been run without the man that started it all, George Ettenheim. We are stumbling along and learning, but we'll get there. « Synchronized stake-driving was the first "event" this year. Two 40' x 100' tents are being used this year. Each team will have a 20' x 20' space in the paddock area. » |
